Best Time For Mardi Himal Short Trek
The best time to embark on a 5-day Mardi Himal trek depends on your preferences and the weather conditions. Generally, the ideal time is from September to November and from March to May. During these months, the weather is mostly stable and the skies are clear, providing stunning views of the Himalayan ranges.
Additionally, the temperature is relatively mild, making the trek more comfortable. In contrast, the winter months from December to February are extremely cold and snowy, making it challenging to trek.
The monsoon season, from June to August, brings heavy rainfall, making the trails slippery and muddy, which could be dangerous. Therefore, it's best to avoid trekking during these seasons unless you're an experienced trekker who enjoys a more challenging trek.

Route For Mardi Himal 5-Days Trek
Mardi Himal trek for 5 days starts with an hour of driving from Pokhara to Kande (1,770 meters). From Kande, the trekking begins. We stopped for the day in Pothana/Deurali (2,031 meters) after hiking from Kande. It will take roughly 4 hours to reach Pothana/Deurali from Kande.
The following day consists of a 7-hour trek to Low Camp (2,970 meters). Hike through the wooded routes and stone-paved ways. Our next destination is the High Camp (3,580 meters), which takes roughly 4 hours from Low Camp.
The following day is our ultimate destination, the base camp of Mardi Himal (4,500 meters). Following an early morning awakening, hike four hours to Base Camp, then six hours to Siding (1,750 meters). We walk for around 9 to 10 hours on this day.
Lastly, trek down for 4 hours to Lwang (1,500 meters) from Siding. Take a shared Jeep from Siding to Pokhara. It will take roughly 2 to 3 hours to reach Pokhara.

Permits For Mardi Himal Short Trek
Mardi Himal Trek is a popular place to go trekking in Nepal's Annapurna region. You will need to get a few permits to hike in this area.
TIMS (Trekkers' Information Management System) Card: TIMS is a compulsory permit for all trekkers in Nepal. It is published by the Nepal Tourism Board and the Nepal Trekking Agencies' Association.
You can get a TIMS card from the Nepal Tourism Board office in Kathmandu or the TAAN office in Kathmandu or Pokhara. The cost of the TIMS card is USD 20 for individual trekkers and USD 10 for group trekkers.
Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP): The Annapurna Conservation Area is a protected area in Nepal. To enter this area, you need to get an ACAP permit. The ACAP permit can be obtained from the Nepal Tourism Board office in Kathmandu or Pokhara or from the ACAP office in Pokhara. The cost of the ACAP permit is USD 30 per person.
It is important to know that in order to get permits for the Mardi Himal Trek, there must be at least two trekkers. Solo trekkers are not allowed to trek in this region. Therefore, it is advisable to hire a trekking agency that can help you obtain the required permits and make other necessary arrangements.
Itinerary
You can start your Mardi Himal 5 Days Trek Either from Kathmandu or Pokhara.
Option A: Trek Starting from Pokhara
If you start your trek from Pokhara, then our office representative will meet you in your respective hotel and explain to you about the trek. And then you will continue your trek to Mardi Himal.
Option B: Trek Starting from Kathmandu
If you are willing to start your Trip from Kathmandu, then you need to take a flight or road trip to Pokhara. This transportation cost will be added on your trip (Fare of Flight or Road Trip).
On day 1, you will need to drive from Pokhara to Kande, which is about a 1-hour drive. Kande is located at an altitude of 1,770 m (580 ft). From Kande, you will start your trek to Pothana or Deurali, depending on your preference.
Pothana is a small village situated at an altitude of 2,125m/69,72 ft. It is surrounded by beautiful forests and offers stunning views of the Annapurna mountain range. Deurali is another small village located at an altitude of 2,100m/6890 ft. It is situated on a ridge and offers spectacular views of the surrounding mountains.
The trek from Kande to Pothana and to Deurali is relatively easy and takes about 2-3 hours, depending on your pace. The trail is well-marked and passes through beautiful forests and small villages. Along the way, you will be able to see some of the local flora and fauna, including rhododendron trees and various bird species.
Once you reach Deurali, you can check into one of the tea houses and rest for the night. These tea houses offer basic accommodation and food, so you can relax and enjoy the mountain views while you res
