Mardi Himal
Mardi Himal is a 5,587-meter (18,330-ft) peak that lies below the much more renowned Machapuchare. It is separated from Machapuchare by a distance of 5,200 meters (17,060 ft). It was first climbed by Basil Goodfellow in 1961. The Mardi Himal, which follows a ridge towards the summit and has lodging and teahouses up to an elevation of 3,550 meters before continuing up to "Base Camp" at 4,500 meters, was opened in 2012. The mountain itself is offered by many expedition companies and is categorized as a "trekking peak" by the government of Nepal. It is one of the most accessible mountain peaks in Nepal and provides views of a variety of stunning mountains and other natural beauty.
